a treasure trove: http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/programmes/world_book_club.shtml
ben okri's voice is soo rich and beautiful. and arundhati roy is as always, alive and captivating. philip pullman too, so catching. unfortunately, atwood has the most boring voice in the world (no surprise? lol)
i love the way writers can talk pretty.
(of fickle and passing nature)
Shoes to flash around
(not heels or wedges,
black coverall shoes)
A dress to swish at my knees
(drained brown with black tussles
ugliness of the cloth)
Earrings that will catch the light when I move
(but after long darkness will burn the hole it inhabits
holes stretched with age)
And a hairdo to crown it all
(dreadlocks of 5 weeks old
trained to separate)
Yes, what I want is the look
(looks dipleasing to you, she and he)
That everyone else seems to have
(but only belongs to me)
